What to expect from Welcome 2021!

This year we'll be bringing together a selection of activities for an on-campus experience during Welcome Week (13-17 September 2021) and beyond. Our in-person Welcome Fair will take place at 11am - 3pm on Tuesday 14 September and Thursday 16 September on our Penryn campus and is open to ALL students regardless of your year of study (a quiet hour will run from 10am-11am on both days). You can expect a smorgasbord of stalls showcasing student groups and societies, sports clubs, university services and of-course our SU stall offering a warm welcome into university life! Student and staff safety will be our top priority so we'll  be closely following university and government guidelines regarding Covid-19. We're in the final stages of what this will look like - so keep your eyes peeled for more Welcome Fair updates coming very soon!

And that's not it!

There'll be plenty more opportunities over the next few months, and throughout the rest of the academic year to join in with SU activities. We'll be adding a range of events to our 'What's On' calendar so don't forget to check in regularly, stay in the loop and get involved.

You are the Students’ Union, and everything we do – we do for you and with you! So be sure to find out more about what we do, say hello at the Welcome Fair and check out our online and in-person events throughout the Welcome period and beyond.

How can I find out about Welcome events?

Check out our SU Welcome 2021 specific events at the bottom of this page! We are collaborating with student groups, Falmouth University, University of Exeter (Cornwall) as well as FX Plus who are puting on a whole host of on-campus events. You can also refer to our What's On event page for ALL our SU events, from Welcome right through to the end of the academic year!

What can I get involved in?

There are tonnes of opportunities here at the SU for you to get involved in. Whether you want to continue a passion of yours or are looking to find something completely new – we've got you! Check out our range of student groups and societies you can join from September. Why not try out a new sport or take part in the many volunteering opportunities we have available?

How am I represented?

You’re represented by your SU Presidents who are elected each year to make sure your time at Falmouth University and University of Exeter (Cornwall) is a positive one. Your Presidents work closely with Student Voice (made up of our Student Council, Committees and Student Reps) as well as working with both universities to make sure your voice is heard. Find out more about how you are represented here. Thinking about representing your course? Become a Student Rep!

What student support is available to me?

Our Advice Service provide support throughout your university experience and cover a range of information/guidance on Finance, Accommodation, Academic-related Support and more. You can book appointments at any point throughout the academic year with one of our expert advisors - who are here to help you.

We know that student life may seem daunting, but we're here to support you throughout the entirety of your experience. We can signpost you to services regarding mental health, study skills, and hate crime reporting. Find out more about Welfare services.
