About the event

Kick off the year with the Communities Department! Come along for an afternoon of fun games, exciting prizes, and a great chance to meet the staff behind our activities programme. Whether you're looking to join a sports club, get involved in a society, or just find out what's on offer this year, this is the perfect place to start.

Chat with our friendly team, discover the full range of clubs and societies available before the welcome fair on Wednesday, and pick up some tips on how to get involved from day one. There'll be games to play, prizes to win, and plenty of ways to make new friends before term really gets going.

Who is running the event? 

This event is being run by Charlie, Tom and Jas from The SU communities department. Our Meet the Team page includes information about every member of The SU team. 

If you need a buddy to support you with arriving at the event, please email The SU on activities@thesu.org.uk and we will work out what we can arrange to help. This might be someone meeting you before the event start time or simply talking you through more details of what to expect. We want to help you access our events so let us know what you need. 

Where is the event taking place? 

The event is taking place at the lawns opposite the Stannary Bar at Penryn Campus. This is in the centre of the campus and is best accessed by taking the steps up from the train station, walking towards the lodge or walking up from the shared student accommodation in Glasney Village. Look for the Falmouth & Exeter Student Union branded gazebo to find our location.

What should I expect? 

At this event, there will be crowds and lots of people moving around. We have plans in place for if the space becomes too busy. 

If you experience any issues during this event, please email info@thesu.org.uk or speak to a member of the team on the day. If you have been affected by harassment, bullying, intimidation or discrimination we are here for you. You don't have to be sure it was 'bad enough' to report. If it affected you, it matters. Please note the following:

• There will be a member of staff present to support the event and answer your questions. There will be photography and videography at this event that will be used for SU marketing, please speak to the member of staff if you don’t want your photo taken. 
• This event is only for students of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus.
• If you need a quiet space to get away from the event, the nearest space would be the Students’ Union.
