What is Student Forum?
It’s a big, open meeting run by student facilitators, where any student can:

Discuss and debate the top student ideas submitted through Make A Change

Hear from guest speakers and students with lived experience of the issues

Then, cast your vote to decide which become official SU priorities.
Each Forum covers:

Up to 3 student ideas that have student backing on Make a Change

Up to 1 proposal from your elected Executive Committee
-
Updates on progress from past Forums
-
An opportunity to ask your SU Presidents questions about their individual priorities and hold your representatives accountable
Once an idea is approved, the Executive Committee (your elected Officers + student volunteers) works with you to make it happen. You can get involved as much or as little as you like.
Why do we use a Student Forum approach?
Over 2000 student voices provided insight and feedback to improve our democratic structures and student representation in The SU Democracy Review. It was clear from the responses that student democracy needs to be easily accessible, more inclusive, and truly representative of the diverse student population.
The priorities you vote for shape what the SU focuses on – from campaigns and funding to conversations with the universities.
