Welfare
We know student life, and this academic year in particular, may seem daunting, but we're here to support you throughout the entirety of your experience. We can signpost you to services regarding mental health, study skills, and hate crime reporting.
Cost of Living Crisis
Your students’ union are working with Falmouth University, the University of Exeter and FX Plus to support our Cornwall student community through the Cost of Living crisis.

Mental Health & Wellbeing
Your health is important. Just as you have to look after your body to avoid getting a cold or looking after a cut knee, you have to do the same for your mental health; we all have mental health, just as we all have physical health.
Financial Hardship
Financial hardship is one of the biggest difficulties facing students. Here you can find info on bursaries, national funding pots and small things that can make a big difference, such as support with health costs.
Housing
Where you live can have a huge impact on your student experience if you aren’t happy. It is important to know your rights when it comes to housing, and we hope that the below links will make housing not only easier for you, but also safer.
Sexual Health & Consent
We want to empower you to put your sexual health into your own hands. No more awkward conversations- you have the right to decide what happens to and with your body! We have a wide selection of protection available to you in both SU offices.
Disability & Learning Differences
University can be difficult for most people, but navigating university whilst also navigating disability can present unique challenges. We have many different supports in place to help you, if needed.
Faith & Liberation
We at The SU value and support your right to your faith, and firmly believe in the importance of equality and inclusivity in all that we do.
Hate Crimes
The SU is an inclusive community, where everyone has the right to be treated with respect. Harassment, bullying, intimidation and discrimination go against all we stand for and will not be tolerated. This page provides information and support.
Drugs & Alcohol
Drinking, and sometimes drugs, can suddenly become a big part of your social life at university (be it taking them or being around those who do). Remember - you are under no pressure to do anything you do not want to do, and support is available to you.
Problems in the Community
You’re still a student when you’re off-campus, so we want to support you with any problems that may arise when you are out in the wider community. This includes ensuring your fire alarms are tested and who to go to if you have encountered a hate crime.
