What is the accessibility information?

Who is running the event?

This event is being organised by the Democracy and Engagement Coordinator Caitlin Ridgway, Forum Facilitators, SU Crew and Student Presidents from The SU. Our Meet the Team page includes information about every member of The SU team.

If you need a buddy to support you with arriving at the event, please email The SU on info@thesu.org.uk and we will work out what we can arrange to help. This might be someone meeting you before the event start time or simply talking you through more details of what to expect. We want to help you access our events so let us know what you need.

Where is the event taking place?

The event is taking place at The SU at Penryn Campus. This is in the centre of the campus oppostie the Masters Suite and to the side of the Stannary. From the bus stop walk passed the Campus Shop and towards the Stannary. Follow the large footpath arounf the frint of the Stannary and up the hill. You will see our wonderful SU Mural ahead of you. From here you can go left to take the ramp up to the doors or right and up the stairs. Once inside the building we are the room on the right. Phew! You made it!

Once the location is determined we will update the closest quiet spaces available to you and there will also be a dedicated room nearby which we can direct you to should you need to leave for a break or a momnet to yourself.

Hello Cornwall: Welcome International Students! (18/09/2026, 13:00)

New to Cornwall? Come and meet fellow international students and have a pasty on us at our chilled Welcome week meetup.

On Friday afternoon, the SU are hosting a friendly, welcoming space for international students share experiences, ask questions, and get to know Cornwall. You can add a pin for your home country to our international student map, and tuck into a traditional Cornish pasty as a delicious introduction to the campus and county.

With different pasty options for different dietary requirements and a designated quiet space, everyone can join in and get to know more about your new home!

What is the key accessibility information?

Step-free access: the event is taking place at The SU, Penryn Campus. There is step-free access to the building via the front entrance opposite The Stannary. There is a disabled toilet in the same part of the building next to The SU space.
Layout: the layout is open plan, with seating available as well as standing room.
Allergies: allergy information will be listed for all the pasties available, and risks around cross-contamination have been assessed. If you have serious food allergies and have questions or concerns, please make yourself known to SU staff (they will all be wearing black and yellow lanyards) at the event so they can support your safe participation.
Noise: the event atmosphere will be relaxed, with light noise from students chatting. Staff will make sure the space does not become too crowded, and there is a quiet space available in Side Room 2 if you want to take a break from the event. You are also free to take one of the SU's sensory bags, which contain items such as fidgets and ear defenders to help you feel comfortable in our space. If you feel overwhelmed or distressed, please speak to a member of SU staff and they can signpost you to a quiet space or additional support.

What should I expect?

At this event, there will be bright lights and lots of people moving around. We have plans in place for if the space becomes too busy.

Grab a drink, pick up a pencil, and let your creativity loose. Drink & Draw is a relaxed, informal evening for anyone who loves to doodle, sketch, or just give it a go and meet new people

Whether you're a seasoned artist or someone who hasn't drawn since school, this is your chance to unwind, get a little creative, and enjoy a drink or two along the way.

What is the key accessibility information?

This event is being held in the Fox Cafe, which is an open space. We don’t expect there to be loud noise but there will be low level noise including talking (hopefully some laughter) and music. There shouldn’t be crowds during the event as this is a sit-down evening. There will be no small spaces as the area is open. There are accessible entrances available as well as accessible toilets nearby. The nearest quiet space will be the multifaith chaplaincy or the student hub.

This event is being run by Bethan from The SU and will be hosted by Falmouth President, Max, and Vice President, Lottie. Our Meet the Team page includes information about every member of The SU team.

Where is the event taking place?

The event is taking place at Fox Cafe at Falmouth campus. This is in the main fox building as is best accessed by:

If coming from Falmouth Town, walk down the path adjacent to the train station (located in the Dell Car Park) turn left at the end of the footpath and then right into the university. You can access the building on the left side, with the accessible entrances further up the road.

If coming from Woodlane, walk down the hill through campus and it is the last building on the right handside at the bottom of the hill.

Ready to make the most of uni? Start at Welcome Fayre! Meet The SU, discover clubs and societies, get involved and leave with a bag full of freebies.

What is the key accessibility information?

There is expected to be loud noise and crowds at this event, whilst it is not in small spaces it may be busy. There are steps into some of the buildings but there are accesible routes, if you are unsure of where these are please ask a member of staff. There are accessible toilets throughout campus.

If you need a quiet space, the multifaith chaplaincy will be open with our Disabled and Neurodivergent Society set up in there too!. If you have a problem please speak to a member of staff.

Who is running the event?

There will also be opportunities to attend the fair in groups with our SU Crew, who are all current students!

The event is taking place across Penryn Campus. The main SU stall will be located in The SU, in the Stannary will be our societies, you'll find the sports clubs in the sports hall and businesses, support and even more stalls in the Exchange Courtyard.
