The SU Student Voice: We've got your back from Falmouth&ExeterStudents'Union on Vimeo.
Want to have your say and influence your time at University? We are here to empower you and support your ideas to improve the student experience. We offer a number of opportunities to have your say and make a difference.
Last year, in response to student feedback, the Presidents, Student Council and hundreds of Student Reps worked together on many successful campaigns, including tackling period poverty, changes to academic provision such as developing low carbon field trip alternatives, launching free animal therapy for students, and working on a Climate Emergency White Paper.
You can get involved and make positive change in a number of ways…
Your elected SU Presidents are here to listen to you and speak on your behalf to the University and other institutional bodies. They work hard to represent all students and ensure your voice is heard.

Feed back to your Rep
Every course and year group has a student Rep, elected by their peers, who will gather your feedback and make your voice heard. They will work in partnership with your Department/Subject Chairs and relevant staff to ensure your feedback is listened to, valued, and acted upon. By keeping in contact with your Rep, you will be updated on any progress.
You can give feedback on:
- Learning and teaching
- Assessment and feedback
- Student community
- Campus facilities
- Wellbeing and support
- Accessibility and inclusivity
- Any other part of your university experience
Find your Rep
The Rep Online System (ROS) can be used to give us your positive and negative feedback, as well as suggestions for change. Anonymous feedback about your course will be emailed to your Reps, who can use this data to escalate your suggestions to course providers. The Student Voice team will monitor all ROS feedback about your university experience and ensure it reaches the right people.
Become a Student Rep
Are you someone who enjoys getting involved, or who wants to help other students feel part of their university? Maybe you really love your subject, and want to work with other Reps and staff to explore how to engage students more. You don’t have to be the most confident or outgoing person to be a Rep; you just need to have an interest in creating a really great student experience.
- Access to training and resources for how to gather feedback, signpost students, and escalate feedback to the appropriate people
- Developing transferrable skills in problem solving, leadership, networking, inclusivity and representation that will benefit your career path
- The chance to influence and make positive change that ensures your course and university experience is the best it can be for you and your peers.
You will also be invited to The Big Rep Meeting, where you will be able to present student feedback straight to university staff and service providers.
Watch the video below to find out more about the roles and responsibilities of Course Reps.

The Student Council is your voice within the Students’ Union. Made up of 27 student reps, including 13 elected Executive Officers and our four Presidents, they are the main decision makers on SU policy. Do you want the SU to support something, stand against something, or take a particular action? The Student Council can vote to make it happen.
The Executive Officer roles are voluntary positions that can be undertaken alongside your studies. Execs manage specific projects and campaigns, supported by the SU Presidents and Student Voice staff. Some of these roles are also part of dynamic and influential committees where students work together on exciting and progressive campaigns to improve your student experience.
We will be looking to elect these roles shortly.

Make a Change
This is a powerful tool where your ideas can be put forward to the student membership and acted upon. We want to hear your suggestions and, if they are voted on by other students, the SU will work towards implementing the change.
