Hop In is a car share initiative that incentivises and encourages student lift sharing as a form of commuting to and from the Penryn campus. The idea is to reduce the amount of single use cars travelling to and from campus and also give students a place where they can give and take lifts off each other which helps to save students money on the price of commuting and parking. My idea is that drivers will be rewarded through incentives such as discounted parking, coffee vouchers and other rewards.
Why is it relevant to Falmouth & Exeter students?
This is relevant to Falmouth and Exeter students as commuting is a high cost for both sets of students and there is nothing currently being done at the university to combat this issue which is available to both Falmouth and Exeter students.
What positive impact would it have?
This initiative would have a positive impact on the University's sustainable impact as it would reduce the number of single use cars travelling to and from campus. As well as this is would save students money on commuting as they would be able to split the cost of travel and parking. Finally this idea would be help bring students together and encourage new friendships as people would be able to share lifts with others they typically might not have been able to meet.
