Implement an outdoor calisthenics and exercise equipment space in an section of the MUGA on campus. Potentially a covered version of this to protect against the weather.
Why is it relevant to Falmouth & Exeter students?
Many students at Glasney village and the campus in generally cannot afford or are reluctant to pay the expensive fees at the campus gym or other gyms. Providing them a free and easy access to outdoor exercise equipment can allow students struggling financially to stay fit and do strength training for free. This would be beneficial to the physical health of students and would also serve as an organic gathering area for people interested in exercise, like Penryns own "muscle beach"!
What positive impact would it have?
Students would be more inclined to make a consistent exercise practice when it is free and accessible. Therefore it would make the student body healthier. It would also produce an organic mini-community of exercisers that go their regularly increasing student community cohesion.
