Mental Health Awareness Week

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week and here at the SU during such a stressful time for students, we want to make sure that you know we are still here for you.

Over the past five or so years, talking about having poor mental health has – fortunately - become less taboo. However, there is still a long way to go in feeling comfortable enough to be able to be open about the various states of mental health we all go through.

The theme for this year is ‘anxiety’, and the events that have been lovingly thought up and organised for you guys are all focused on being in a relaxed, low-pressure environment allowing students to come together and be creative. Check out the event list below to see what we’re putting on.

I cannot stress how important being creative and getting outside is for good mental health. There’s a lovely mixture of events happening all around campus – truly something for everyone.

For some small steps to improve your mental health, check out Student Minds’ page on resources for wellbeing. If you’re struggling with any aspect of your university experience, this is your sign to reach out.
