Supporting transgender and non-binary students
- Signposting to resources
- Submitting exec proposal to Forum
- Pushing universities for answers on how this ruling will direct impact students
- Asking what we can do to better support our trans and non-binary members
International student experience advisory boards (Exeter)
- Starting pilot in Cornwall (Devon has had them for a year now)
- Getting students in the room with university higherups to have direct input on change
- Deciding format and topics that will work for and be relevant for Cornwall international students
Bussy Hussy
- Employed student researchers to research our competitor universities bus prices
- Have set up a meeting with higherups from Exeter and Falmouth to gain their support
- Next we plan to meet with the Cornwall councillor (hopefully with support from the universities) who holds the transport portfolio to lobby for better student deals
SU awards
- Have sat on award short listing panels to input on who will receive this years awards
- Have been working hard on drafting a script for the SU award hosts (Us the sabbs)
UMHC assessment (Exeter)
- Attended the university mental health charter assessment for Exeter up in Devon
- Sat on multiple assessed panel to explain the student experience with wellbeing and mental health down in Cornwall
FXPLUS board
- Sat in on FXPLUS board with our CEO to input on the student perspective in key decisions and make sure students are considered in every decision made
WICC - classism seminar (Exeter)
- Attended multiple wellbeing inclusion and culture committees including a seminar on how classism directly impacts Exeter students and their student experience
Meetings meetings and a side of meetings
- As per usual I am attending a myriad of meetings every week to ensure that Cornwall students are at the centre of everything that the universities do
Starting to think about handover
- As my term here comes to an end I am beginning to think about what nuggets of knowledge I need to include in my handover to the incoming sabbs (and let me tell you there is a lot to write about!)
