About the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our Student Opportunities team, supporting and enabling student-led activity across our 70 societies, covering a range of activities from sustainability to chess. Our groups span the spectrum of student life, across academic, cultural, career and interests. You will work with student leaders, training and supporting them to put on events, activities and opportunities for their members. As an organisation we are going through an incredible journey, and this is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate and encouraging team for a fixed period.

You will be the main point of contact for student leaders running societies, and alongside the rest of the team will deliver support and guidance for student groups at The SU.

The ideal candidate for this role would have an understanding of student societies and opportunities, and be passionate about supporting and enabling student leaders. You will need to be confident engaging with our stakeholders including students, staff, Trustees, Falmouth University and the University of Exeter, to ensure that student group activity is delivered safely and in an engaging way.

As this is a part-time role, are open to accommodating flexible working patterns across a standard working week (Monday-Friday).

About us

You will be employed directly by The SU. We are a membership-led charity; run by students, for students. We represent students from two different universities: Falmouth University and the University of Exeter.

  • Falmouth University has a history of more than 100 years of creative thinking and design innovation. Established in 1902 as Falmouth School of Art, they have grown to become a digital innovation hub, delivering impact for lives and economies through the development of new knowledge, solutions, services and products.
  • The University of Exeter is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities and in the top 150 universities in the world. They combine world-class teaching with world-class research, achieving a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework Award 2017.
