About this vacancy
This is an opportunity to join our Advice Service, delivering advice and assistance to our student members on issues including student finance entitlement, University-related matters (e.g. appeals, complaints, disciplinaries, academic misconduct), and housing rights.
You will be employed directly by The SU. We are a membership-led charity; run by students, for students. We represent students from two different universities: Falmouth University and the University of Exeter in Cornwall.
- Falmouth University has a history of more than 100 years of creative thinking and design innovation. Established in 1902 as Falmouth School of Art, they have grown to become a digital innovation hub, delivering impact for lives and economies through the development of new knowledge, solutions, services and products.
- The University of Exeter is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities and in the top 150 universities in the world. They combine world-class teaching with world-class research, achieving a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework Award 2017.
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least two years’ experience (voluntary or employed) of providing welfare advice. This should include having provided advice in at least two of the following areas: money/debt, housing, employment, welfare benefits, immigration, student funding or disability issues.
The post holder will be primarily based at the Penryn campus but will be required to work regularly and flexibly across all campuses as well as from home.
