About the event

In the PMQs event, we will debate motions based on current affairs in relation to the progressive cause, and some fun motions too! There will be a simulated chamber, with a government bench and an opposition bench both debating to try and win different motions. Teams will assign a leader, and other people within the team to different ministerial and shadow ministerial roles. Following the debate a vote will take place, and the winning team is the team that wins the most debates overall!

This event is a freshers event designed to give you a flavour of the sort of topics we will discuss here at the progressive society. Topics debated in this session will be accessible to anybody with an interest in the progressive cause, with no prior political, debating or public speaking skills required.
