About the event

Join us for a birdwatching trip to Roseland to see the uncommon breeding bird cirl bunting! Cirl bunting was once abundant in many areas of UK until it suffered severe declines and became restricted to coasts of south Devon. The cirl buntings at Roseland are an reintroduced population from Devon where they have established a stable population. However, seeing them may require calm and sunny weather and a good survival rate from winter. Aside from cirl buntings, other possible birds include blackcap, common whitethroat, chiffchaff, linnet and more.

We will meet at the Falmouth Princess of Wales pier at 09:00 where we will take the 09:15 ferry to St Mawes and walk to St Just and back. We will then take the 16:15 ferry back to Falmouth Princess pier. You are highly recommended to wear walking boots and bring packed lunch, though there may be shops open at St. Mawes.

Please purchase the su ticket to enjoy the 10% online purchase discount and student discount. Please bring your student card for the discount. The online ticket purchased is valid for 12 months after online purchase, so there will be no refunds. Please note that this trip is subject to cancellation in the case of a highly adverse change in weather forecast (eg. heavy rain and/or >35km/h wind). We will notify if the trip has to be cancelled through Whatsapp group chat and Instagram.
