Location
Join us for a spectacular birdwatching trip to Isles of Scilly St.Mary's! We are currently in the peak season for migrating birds, both sea and land. Isles of Scilly is one of the best birdwatching hotspots in UK, with one of the highest number of species recorded here. For the cruise, we hope to see migrating shearwaters from manx to great, sooty and balearic, and perhaps skuas and puffins. It is always unpredictable on birds seen on the island but recent sightings include ortolan bunting, glossy ibis, red-breasted flycatcher, semi-palmated sandpiper, rosy starling, turtle dove, whinchat, pied flycatcher and more. Wryneck and jack snipe is a possibility as well. You are required to bring your own lunch and a pair of walking boots. Please meet at Penryn campus bus stop, and we will make a group chat for contact and discussing carpools if you live in Penryn/Falmouth.
This event is members only and has very limited tickets as we have limited drivers. Ticket price is to cover the cruise ticket, and we are covering the fuel and parking costs.
