About the event

PHEMSoc is organising a trip with West Cornwall Search and Rescue Team. This will involve an introduction about their role, how to approach A-E scenarios and learn more about the equipment they use.

This will be followed by a search and rescue medical scenario in Poldice Quarry Forest. The focus will be on each team attempting to locate, stabilise and provide initial medical care to casualties in the forest. There will be a bit of competition between teams to find casualties, however the main focus is on clear communication, effective triage and ensuring prompt treatment. Each team will be monitored by a trained SAR personnel. This is a great opportunity to expand your medical skills and is open to all abilities. Come along to learn more about pre hospital medicine!

We will be car sharing to the base and plan to arrive for 09:30.
