Spiritual Soc is a brand new society for 2020/21! Students of any or no religion are invited to explore all aspects of spirituality with us. Our focus is on sharing knowledge and creating a community of like-minded individuals, where we can learn from each other and improve our spiritual wellbeing. We aim to connect those with beliefs that may not be fully represented by the religious groups on campus, to allow exploration of different beliefs and practices, and to help students combat the stresses of university life through mindfulness.
Everyone is welcome, whether you’re an expert on all things spiritual or simply curious. Even amongst the committee, we have quite a range of different beliefs and different areas of knowledge. Learning together is our main goal, so please don’t be shy - come and try something new!
This year we intend to hold sessions exploring a variety of topics including meditation, tarot, mindfulness, crystals and astrology. We also plan to celebrate natural events such as the solstices and moon cycle, and hopefully get out into the beautiful Cornish countryside for walks and gatherings. We’re very much open to suggestions and ideas from our members, as we want to ensure we’re putting on the events you actually want to attend! Although societies might look a little different this year, we’re determined to find ways to make it work, be it virtually or in person.
You can find us on the SU website, Facebook or Instagram for updates and event details. We post weekly astrology reports and tips for mindfulness and spiritual practice, and we have a Facebook Discussion Group for asking questions, sharing ideas and getting to know one another.
