Our sports clubs have returned to action with some great results!
CSM Hockey’s season got off to a great start last weekend with both Men and Women’s 1st team securing wins. CSM Men ran out 5-0 versus Truro 4ths at Penryn College with goals from Oliver Harris, Alfie Riley, Betram Hawkins and a brace from George Jones. The women’s team took the long journey to Bude and came away with a win with goals from Georgie Waight x2 and Catrin Oswald.
It was a different story for the Women’s 2nd team as they went down to a 5-0 loss against Truro at Penryn College.
It was a full sweep of wins for our football clubs last weekend as CSM picked up 6 points with wins against Wendron 3rds and Falmouth United. Tom Hixson scored the winner in injury time against Wendron at Underlane. While Goals from Oscar King, Pedro Conceicao and Yagiz Ozer against Falmouth United secured CSM’s second win in a week lifting them to 12th in the table.
Tremough played in their first ever Junior Cup match last weekend. Two goals in the second half from Tom Marshall and Terence McAvoy meant that Tremough ran out on top against Chacewater with a 2-1 win. Tremough will be hoping more the same this weekend as they face Speak Out United in the 2nd round of the Percy Stephens Cup.
FXSU Ladies hope to put last season’s disappointment behind them, and they hit the ground running in their league opener against Wadebridge last Sunday in an entertaining match. A 5-4 win with goals from Katrina Dale, Phoebe Krebs, Natalie Wickens and Charlotte Rex x2 got the ladies over the line.
