It’s that time of year again, where last year’s Officers have fled the nest to be let out into the big wide world and we’ve welcomed in a group of fresh-faced Sabbatical Officers ready to start their term. It is always somewhat of a bittersweet time as we’ve said goodbye to Izzy and Avery, but who better to step into the shoes they’ve left than Toby and Poppy?  

Toby (he/him) is a recent Politics and International Relations (alongside module in Law and Business) graduate, and he is stepping in as your new President Exeter. As President, Toby represents all University of Exeter students studying in Cornwall, with a particular focus on academic issues and representation, working alongside Course Reps and Subject Chairs. Alongside this, they will be working on their personal priority (that you elected them in on) which is all about standing up for Exeter students in Cornwall to give you equal experience by expanding careers events and module choice here in Cornwall. 

Toby is originally from Bath but has spent a lot of time in Devon and Cornwall. He was also spent the past year as a Student Trustee for the SU, so he knows the ins and outs of how we work. When he isn’t busy representing you, you can find him spending time at the beach or in the sea. He’s also a big F1 fan so he’ll be keeping a close eye on motorsport too! 

Supporting Toby as Vice President Exeter is Poppy (she/her). Poppy studied Marine Biology and has represented students a course rep and subject chair. As VP Exeter, Lottie represents all University of Exeter students studying in Cornwall with a specific focus on students studying based at the Knowledge Spa in Truro. 

When Poppy isn’t in the SU, you’ll find her performing, reading or at the beach!
