Meet Your 2025/26 Exeter Officers

New year, new Officer team — and this time, with a dedicated Vice President Exeter to make sure the voice of students studying in Truro is heard loud and clear.

Leading the way for Exeter students in Cornwall this year are:

  • Izzy Brinkley – your new President Exeter

  • Avery Bailey – your new Vice President Exeter

🌿 President Exeter – Izzy Brinkley

Priority for the year: Employability
Studied: BSc Conservation Biology and Ecology with Professional Placement

Likes: Plants, the ocean, movies, food, a good cuppa, and having a boogie
Dislikes: Sand, slow walking, losing her train of thought, and computers with attitude problems
Favourite spot on campus: The huge ferns and fallen log just behind the amphitheatre — a little pocket of nature to escape to between lectures.

Izzy’s fresh in to SU life and has a key focus on employability — making sure you leave Exeter not just with a degree, but with the skills, connections, and confidence to land your dream role.

🎭 Vice President Exeter – Avery Bailey

Priority for the year: Cost of living
Studied: MSc Conservation and Biodiversity

Likes: Queer romance books, How to Train Your Dragon, D&D, backpacking, sea swimming, volunteering, painting, and musicals
Dislikes: Tics, white chocolate, injections, and the Slitheen design (Doctor Who fans will understand the terror)
Favourite spot on campus: The walled garden hammocks — perfect for relaxing after a long day.

Avery’s here to keep cost of living high on the agenda, pushing for support and solutions that make student life more affordable and less stressful.

We’re looking forward to seeing what Izzy and Avery achieve this year. Check out their Officer pages to follow their projects, get involved, or just see what they’re up to on campus.
