What's happened so far to improve your student experience on Falmouth Campus.
The Priority: Creating more opportunities and spaces for Falmouth students to connect, feel supported and get involved with their community.
Context: Many Falmouth students, specifically on Falmouth Campus, often feel disconnected and forgotten whether that be by the university, The SU, or even by society groups. It’s important that Falmouth campus is as much as a hub as Penryn is and that the students on that campus can access the same amount of space and opportunities.
What we’ve achieved
Key Outcomes:
- Created monthly events hosted by The Su and sabbatical officers to promote engagement and sociability between students
- Developing covered outdoor seating to place around Falmouth Campus
- Created and hosted training for society committee groups to practice on Falmouth Campus and why it’s important
By the Numbers: Sold out Drink and Draw Event (40 people), 11/15 students interacted during the ‘Tea with you VP’ session
Why this matters
By creating more spaces and opportunities for students, it helps to impact their overall experience and their mental health positively. Making sure that students have the space to make friends and get involved with their community is not only great for taking a break from those tiring studies but also to explore new and developing connections with other students and Falmouth as a whole. It is important that everyone gets the same opportunities, no matter what campus they are on.
