Black History Month: Conversations That Count

bhmpresidents

This Black History Month, we wanted to celebrate by starting real conversations . Conversations that were not just about history, but about identity, growth and what it means to be proud of who you are today. We spoke with a few incredible people who shared their experiences, reflections and advice for others navigating similar journeys.

A Letter to My Younger Self – with Jadelle Luckman

In this video, writer and speaker Jadelle Luckman shares a powerful letter to her younger self. She talks about confidence, self-acceptance and learning to take up space unapologetically.

In Conversation with Madeline R Young Touré

We also shared a chat between Young Touré and Madeline R, diving into culture, ambition and using your platform to make space for others. Madeline spoke about the importance of representation and how success feels more meaningful when it helps others rise too.

Meet ACS

We also sat down with the African Caribbean Society to talk about what this month means to them and how they’ve found commumity as part of ACS.

What We Learned

Across the videos and our Instagram post, one theme kept coming up — every story matters. People opened up about pride, belonging and the power of being seen. Black History Month reminded us that celebrating culture isn’t just about looking back — it’s also about looking forward, listening to each other, and sharing experiences that move us all forward.
