What You Can Expect from this February's Rep Network

Get ready for this term's Rep Network!

BRMStudent Representative

Calling all Academic Reps! This term we're hosting this year's first Rep Network event, giving you a chance to share feedback with various university teams, boost your CVs and meet fellow reps across Falmouth University and the University of Exeter!

So what can you expect?

Give Your Feedback

As always, we want to hear what you think about the most pressing issues impacting your student community. This term we'll be joined by the Timetabling, Library and Accessibility teams who want to hear your course's opinions on the following questions;

Timetabling

  • What is the single most important thing for you about your timetable?

Library

  • How well do the library’s collections support your reading for your course? Are there any barriers or issues that affect your ability to use library resources?
  • The library’s Skills team offer a range of workshops, drop-ins and one-to-one help with research and study skills.  Are you aware of these services? Is there any kind of support you think is missing, or that you would like the library to offer?

Accessibility*

  • How useful has your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) been?
  • Which part of your DSA support has been most useful, and why?

*Please note, we recognise not all reps will have personal experience with ILPs and DSA support - which is why it's especially important for you to go out to your coursemates for feedback ahead of the event! Remember that as a course-level rep, you are talking on behalf of your course, not on behalf of yourself.

Ask Questions

As well as being joined by the above teams, we will also be joined by Falmouth Employability Team and the Career Zone who will be there to support you with any questions you may have about

  • Building your CV
  • Improving your Linkedin presence
  • Finding placements and work experience
  • And more!

This is an opportunity for you to start thinking about how the experience you have from being a rep can bee turned into valuable employability skills!

On top of this, your SU Presidents will be around taking any questions regarding their manifesto priorities, or any issues you've noticed on campus that you would like to discuss with them.

Meet Your Fellow Reps!

Finally, you can just meet other reps, share ideas, cross collaborate, and have fun! There will be refreshments on the day to keep you going, and the entire event will be informal with a quiet room nearby, so you can leave and join sessions whenever you need.

We look forward to seeing you there!
