About this vacancy

This is an exciting opportunity to join our SU Crew, a team of students who help us deliver fun, impactful activities to our members throughout the year.

SU Crew members play a key role in supporting the permanent staff team across busy times of the year, ensuring we can deliver activities and events in line with Students’ Union priorities. The role is varied and flexible to fit in with student life, you might be helping support queries in the office, meeting future students and representing the SU at open days, or helping to set up for our big events during the year.

You will be employed directly by The SU on an hourly basis. We are a membership-led charity; run by students, for students. We represent students from two different universities: Falmouth University and the University of Exeter in Cornwall. We’re looking for current students for these roles, who are looking for flexible and exciting opportunities to work with The SU.

There is no ideal candidate for this role – we’re looking for a range of students with different skills who are passionate about supporting opportunities for their peers! We’d like to hear from you about the skills you might be able to bring to the role, whether that’s social media, communications, event management, experience of working with students, or anything else you can think of. You’d need to be able to work flexibly across varied hours and locations, and the skills you have might influence the hours we could offer you. We’re looking for students who can work well in a team, are confident engaging with their peers in different settings and could bring new ideas and enthusiasm to our student facing activities and opportunities.

The post holder will be primarily based at the Penryn campus but will be required to work regularly and flexibly across all campuses as well as from home.

To apply, complete both parts of the Application form, attach your CV and email to jobs@thesu.org.uk.

We will arrange for interviews when we have availability across the staff team. This will be relatively informal, and is a chance to hear more about you, your skills and motivation for the role. If you are successful in securing an interview, we will confirm arrangements for these via email after submitting your application.
