About the event

What if there was a social network that did more than just connect people? How about one that helps tackle pressing social and environmental issues?

Woken up is a new form of social network with a simple premise - to bring together people, companies, non-profits, tech-for-good platforms and governments who are taking action on global issues. The 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals sit at the heart of WokenUp and its functionality. It’s a network that is ultimately about the development of a better world which we would be proud to leave behind for our children and grandchildren.

If you want to find out more about WokenUp's mission to change the world for good, please come along to this talk (which GeogSoc are very excited to be hosting) by Simon Puleston Jones, the founder of the platform.

https://www.wokenup.com/

This talk is free to attend for GeogSoc members. If you are not a GeogSoc member, we request that you either become one (which will allow you to attend future talks and many other GeogSoc events) or that you make a small donation to the charity we’re supporting, ShelterBox (https://www.shelterbox.org/), on the evening.
