Date
9:30am - 4:40pm
Time
Portscatho
Location
Join birdwatching society for a trip to Portscatho! There we will try spotting cirl buntings, a stunning and rare breeding bird only found in Devon and Cornwall. Cirl buntings were once abundant but went through a severe decline in UK. The cirl buntings in Roseland were reintroduced from Devon. We will also try and spot seabirds as Portscatho is an area known for grebes and divers. We will first walk along farmlands to search for cirl buntings, then we will walk along the coasts for cirl buntings and seabirds.
Please meet at the Penryn Campus bus stop stand C as usual. We will take the 9:40am U1 to Truro, then take the 10:10am bus 50 to Portscatho. For our way back, we will take the 14:48 bus 50. Bringing lunch and walking boots is recommended.
