About the event

- RESCHEDULED FROM WEDNESDAY -

We've had to reschedule Wednesday's talk to this Friday so that Dr Lunt is still able to join us (as he'll be busy helping with the NHS Nightingale hospital opening this Thurs!), apologies for the short notice but hopefully still see you there!

~ Introducing our teach for this week's ‘Dysphoria and Dysmorphia’ theme! ~

We're super excited to welcome our wonderful guest speakers for this block - Dimitri Georgiev, this year’s Trans Rep for Exeter LGBTQ+ Society, and Dr Craig Lunt, a GP ST2 who has experience working in gender clinics.

Together they'll be discussing gender dysphoria and what this feels like, as well as some of the common issues faced by transgender and non-binary individuals when it comes to accessing healthcare services, including personal experiences and thoughts from within the community.

Our main aim with this teach is to foster more understanding and raise awareness of the struggles that transgender patients often go through, hopefully increasing your confidence as an advocate for LGBTQ+ patients (which will help improve your practice across all walks of medicine!).

It really is vital that we take the time to listen to and empathise with marginalised groups such as trans people (who often rely heavily on healthcare professionals throughout their lives) so we can improve patient experiences and work to reduce healthcare inequalities.??

Hope to see you there!??
