About the event

Join SSAGOK for a Coastal Walk! As part of our Scouting and Girlguiding nature. We want to kick off the new academic year with a walk. We want to show everyone who is new to the area and even people familiar to Cornwall one of the best parts of Falmouth. We recommend suitable footware and warm clothing.

We will have four meeting points;

  1. Glasney Lodge: Between 13:15 & 13:30
  2. The green opposite the JW hall between Glasney steps and Packsaddle: Between 13:30 & 13:40
  3. Penryn train station: Between 13:50 & 14:00
  4. Woodlane campus: Between 14:00 & 14:30

We plan to walk freshers from the lodge, past Packsaddle, and get the 13:59 train from Penryn to Falmouth Town, as we are aware first years may feel overwhemled. We also have a meeting point at Woodlane for students who live/are based in Falmouth.

The primary walk will go from Falmouth Town train station through Woodlane campus, then down Pennance Road to Swanpool beach, then along the cliff path to Gylly. We will then walk along Cliff Road, around Pendennis Point, and finish by Custom House Quay.

At this point we will invite anyone who wants to to come into town where we plan to get food from either Harbour Lights (for fish and chips) or Oggies (for pasties) and have a casual chat/social. Alternatively, a member of the committee will be getting the train back to Penryn with any participents who only wanted to come for the walk.
