The Rubik’s Cube and Math Sydney Weaver – nine time gold medallist professional Speed Cuber

I will use the Rubik’s cube as a fascinating medium to explore the topics of group theory, order of elements, cycles, commutators and conjugates and permutations. This will be interspersed with some live demos of speed cubing and one-handed solves.

This is the inaugural joint event between Penryn and Streatham Maths Societies and aims to unite (and entertain!) the whole maths community across both campuses.
