Looking for a warm lunch and a chance to meet new people? Join us for Free Soup Friday, a relaxed weekly event where students can enjoy a free bowl of soup, connect with fellow students, and get to know their Students' Union Sabbatical Officers.

Whether you're new to campus, looking to expand your social circle, or simply want to have a chat, Free Soup Friday is the perfect opportunity to take a break, make connections, and learn more about the work your elected officers are doing on your behalf.

Drop in, grab some soup, pull up a chair, and be part of a welcoming community where everyone is invited. No booking required, just bring yourself and your appetite!

Who is running the event? 

 

This event is being run by The Sabbatical Officer Team Toby, Poppy, Max and Lottie from The SU. Our Meet the Team page includes information about every member of The SU team. 

 

If you need a buddy to support you with arriving at the event, please email The SU on info@thesu.org.uk and we will work out what we can arrange to help. This might be someone meeting you before the event start time or simply talking you through more details of what to expect. We want to help you access our events so let us know what you need. 

 

Where is the event taking place? 

 

The event is taking place at the Upper Stannary at Penryn Campus. This is in the centre of the campus.

What should I expect? 

 

At this event, there will be bright lights and lots of people moving around. We have plans in place for if the space becomes too busy. 

 

If you experience any issues during this event, please email info@thesu.org.uk or speak to a member of the team on the day. If you have been affected by harassment, bullying, intimidation or discrimination we are here for you. You don't have to be sure it was 'bad enough' to report. If it affected you, it matters. Please note the following:

  • There will be a member of staff present to support the event and answer your questions. There will be photography and videography at this event that will be used for SU marketing, please speak to the member of staff if you don’t want your photo taken. 
  • This event is only for students of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus.
  • If you need a quiet space to get away from the event, the nearest space would be the Students’ Union, Multifaith Chaplaincy, Library Retreat Room.
