Celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month with a night of colour, creativity and confidence! Join us for inclusive, gender-affirming makeup tutorials where you can explore feminising, masculinising and androgynising styles — from beginner basics to advanced and drag techniques. Enjoy free makeup samples from Lush’s latest ranges, and learn from our incredible guest tutor Pasty Kween, a star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, who’ll share pro tips and stories from life on screen and stage. Come as you are, play, experiment and glam up together 💄✨

Whilst this event can be enjoyed by watching Pasty work her magic and trying out some free samples, we highly recommend for the best experience you bring all the makeup you have and don’t forget to bring a mirror!

There is disabled access to the Exchange Green Space, with both disabled and regular toilet facilities nearby.

Where is the event taking place?

The event is taking place at Exchange Green at Penryn Campus. This is in the centre of the campus and is best accessed by taking the steps up from the train station, walking towards the lodge and continuing up the hill, past the shop and into the ground floor of exchange by either the reolving door or automatic door beside it. Inside the exchange, continue up the stairs and past the library where you will find Exchange Green.

What should I expect?

Activities: Learn all about the exciting world of makeup, starting from the absolute basics progressing slowly to more advanced techniques then finishing on drag makeup. Learn about feminising, masculinising and androgynising makeup styles. From expressing your feminine side to channelling your masculine side this workshop if for everyone. Learn from Professional artist Pasty Kween what your makeup does, how to use it and all about life on the big screen.

Atmosphere: This is a calm and inviting event designed for students wanting to improve their makeup skills. There will be bright lights and some gentle movement as students come and go throughout the afternoon.

Support: Avery Bailey one of your student presidents will be available to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Note: This event is exclusively for students of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus. Photography and videography will be conducted during the event for SU marketing purposes; please inform a staff member if you prefer not to be photographed.

There will be a member of staff present to support the event and answer your questions. There will be photography and videography at this event that will be used for SU marketing, please speak to the member of staff if you don’t want your photo taken.

If you need a quiet space to get away from the event, the nearest space would be the Library Retreat Room.
