About the event

Join Steve Cannon from the Intercom Trust to learn about the experiences and issues for LGBT+ people. By taking part in this session, you will improve your skills and confidence in working with LGBT+ people.

Please get your FREE ticket so that we know how many people to expect :)

By completing the training, you can gain a certificate for your CV and understand how to be more inclusive in your day-to-day life.

What is the key accessibility information?

  • Limited attendees due to workshop setting (no more than 30 people)
  • Attendees will be able to move in and out of the space to manage their needs.
  • There is a disabled toilet in the Daphne Du Maurier Building (DM) on the same floor as the seminar room.
  • The nearest lift to DM is from the Stannary to the top of the DM building.
  • There is no quiet space booked for this event, the nearest quiet space is the retreat room in the silent section of the library.

Who is running the event?

This event is being run by Steve Cannon from The Intercom Trust, a charity that supports LGBT+ communities.

Where is the event taking place?

The event is taking place at Daphne Du Maurier, Seminar K at Penryn Campus. This is in the centre of the campus and is best accessed by going into the Stannary and taking the stairs or lift to the top of the building.

What should I expect?

At this event, there will be a presentation and opportunities for group discussion. There is no expectation that you contribute to conversation.

There may be photography and videography at this event that will be used for SU marketing, please speak to the member of staff if you don’t want your photo taken.

This event is only for students of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus.

If you need a quiet space to get away from the event, the nearest space would be the Library Retreat Room.
