About the event

A Collective Stand Up is a structured, empowering space for students to explore shared experiences, identify change they want to see, and begin shaping proposals for Student Forum. It’s not a social event — but it’s also not a debate. It’s a peer-led space for reflection, truth-telling, and action-planning. This Stand Up is specifically for Postgrad and Mature Students.

What is the key accessibility information?

  • Noise: Expect general conversation and discussion, but we’ll keep the atmosphere calm and respectful.

  • Crowds: Attendance is usually 10–20 students; the space won’t exceed 25.

  • Space layout: Seating will be open plan and flexible — no tight corners.

  • Physical access: Check if there are any steps into or around the venue; we will always ensure wheelchair access where possible.

  • Toilets: Disabled toilet access will be confirmed for the venue, and staff can direct you to the nearest facilities.

  • Quiet space: The SU Office is the designated nearby quiet space available to you if you need a break.

  • If you have a problem: Speak to SU staff on hand at the event — they’ll be happy to support you.

Who is running the event?

This event is being run by Georgina Griskeviciene from The SU. Our Meet the Team page includes information about every member of The SU team.

If you need a buddy to support you with arriving at the event, please email The SU on info@thesu.org.uk and we will work out what we can arrange to help. This might be someone meeting you before the event start time or simply talking you through more details of what to expect. We want to help you access our events so let us know what you need.

Where is the event taking place?

TBC.

What should I expect?

Empowering, open, confidential, and respectful conversations guided by our Forum Facilitators.
