About the event

Got something to say about your uni experience? Forum is your open space to show up, speak up, and make real decisions that matter. Any student can attend, join the discussion, and vote on proposals that shape what your Students’ Union works on next. Whether you bring an idea, back a cause, or just want to see how change happens – you’re part of the conversation. Free pizza, friendly faces, and your chance to influence the future.

What is the key accessibility information?

  • Noise: Expect general conversation and discussion. The atmosphere will be welcoming and inclusive.

  • Crowds: Open to all students. Crowds will be managed and you will be seated at tables of 10-12 people depending on numbers.

  • Seating & Layout: Open-plan room with flexible seating around tables so you can choose where you feel most comfortable.

  • Step-Free Access: The venue is fully accessible via ramps, with no steps in, out, or around the space.

  • Toilets: Toilets, including an accessible toilet, are available nearby on the same floor.

  • Quiet Space: If you need a break, a dedicated quiet room will be available during the event — staff can guide you there.

  • Support: Friendly Forum Facilitators, SU crew, and sabbatical officers will be present to help with anything you need.

Who is running the event?

This event is being organised by Georgina Griskeviciene, Forum Facilitators, SU Crew and Student Presidents from The SU. Our Meet the Team page includes information about every member of The SU team.

If you need a buddy to support you with arriving at the event, please email The SU on info@thesu.org.uk and we will work out what we can arrange to help. This might be someone meeting you before the event start time or simply talking you through more details of what to expect. We want to help you access our events so let us know what you need.

Where is the event taking place?

Location TBC.

What should I expect?

At Forum, you can expect:

  • Bright but comfortable lighting — clear enough to see and read, but not harsh.
  • Movement in the space as students arrive, leave, or take part in different discussions.
  • Light debate and discussion facilitated by the Forum Chair and Vice Chair, with a relaxed and respectful tone.
  • A calm atmosphere — if the space gets busy, we’ll manage numbers to keep it comfortable.
  • Friendly SU staff and officers on hand to answer questions and offer support.
  • Photography and filming may take place — just let us know if you’d prefer not to be included.

For Falmouth University and University of Exeter Cornwall Campus students only.

Quiet space available — if you need a break, please ask about the nearest quiet space. Once the location is determined we will update the closest quiet spaces available to you and there will also be a dedicated room nearby which we can direct you to should you need to leave for a break or a momnet to yourself.
