For students who are neurodivergent, exploring, or self-identifying. Come along for a relaxed and friendly meet-up. Meet others, share experiences (if you want to), and feel part of a supportive community.

About the event

Join us for a relaxed and welcoming Collective meet-up where you can connect with other students who share similar experiences. There’ll be free refreshments, friendly faces, and the chance to chat, chill, or just take a breather. Whether you want to meet new people, find out more about the Collectives, or just sit and listen — this space is for you.

What is the key accessibility information?

  • Noise: There will be low-level background music and general conversation, but we’re keeping things calm and not too loud.

  • Crowds: The space will have a maximum of 40 people. It may feel busy at times but we’ll monitor capacity throughout.

  • Small Spaces: The room is open plan with flexible seating — no tight corners or enclosed spaces.

  • Step-Free Access: The venue is accessible via ramps with no steps in, out, or around the space.

  • Toilets: There are toilets including an accessible toilet nearby on the same floor.

  • Quiet Space: If you need to take a break, the nearest quiet spaces are the side rooms in the Students’ Union office which will be set up as a dedicated quiet spaces during the event. Staff can help guide you.

  • Need support? There will be friendly SU staff, crew and sabbatical officers present — just come and chat to any of us if you need anything or feel overwhelmed.

Who is running the event?

This event is being run by Georgina Griskeviciene, SU Crew and Student Presidents from The SU. Our Meet the Team page includes information about every member of The SU team.

If you need a buddy to support you with arriving at the event, please email The SU on info@thesu.org.uk and we will work out what we can arrange to help. This might be someone meeting you before the event start time or simply talking you through more details of what to expect. We want to help you access our events so let us know what you need.

Where is the event taking place?

The event is taking place at The SU at Penryn Campus. This is in the centre of the campus oppostie the Masters Suite and to the side of the Stannary. From the bus stop walk passed the Campus Shop and towards the Stannary. Follow the large footpath arounf the frint of the Stannary and up the hill. You will see our wonderful SU Mural ahead of you. From here you can go left to take the ramp up to the doors or right and up the stairs. Once inside the building we are the room on the right. Phew! You made it!

What should I expect?

At this event, there will be:

  • Bright but not harsh lighting

  • Students moving around the space at different times

  • Light background music and gentle conversation
    If the space becomes too busy, we have a plan to manage numbers and maintain a relaxed atmosphere.

There will be SU staff on hand throughout the event to help and answer questions.
Photography and filming may take place — just let us know if you’d rather not be included.

This event is for Falmouth University and University of Exeter Cornwall Campus students only.

If you need a quiet space to get away from the event, the nearest space would be the Library Retreat Room.
