Jam First is a group of talented students who share an interest in playing different forms of jazz and swing music, from big show tunes and pop tracks to more traditional jazz standards.

Jam First Big Band is a student-led group made up of both Exeter and Falmouth University students. We rehearse weekly in the AMATA building, Penryn Campus. We play a variety of music, from jazz standards to well-known big band and pop classics! We have performed in many venues across Devon and Cornwall and are often hired to play for Winter and Summer socials for different societies. We also take part in the annual Battle of the Big Bands competition, playing alongside other university big bands from the South West. Put simply, we are a big group of friendly people who enjoy playing music together every week! All big band instruments welcome, so come along and get jazzy with us.

Jazz Band Rehearsals:

We will be having rehearsals on Wednesdays 6.30-8.30 in either studio K or F of the AMATA
