A casual hub on campus to share our passions for wild plant ID and plant-inspired art.

Welcome to Field Botany soc, Penryn Campus' hub for all things plants!

We aim to provide a casual, welcoming space to share knowledge and interest of wild plant ID and art through regular plant ID walks on campus and all across the wilds of Cornwall as well as our regular art evenings. We also love to bring in guest speakers to give inspiring talks and run Beginner Botany workshops on the flora of Cornwall and beyond. We are working hard to plan our events starting in January 2024, so keep an eye out here and on our instagram (@fieldbotanysoc_fxu) for updates!

Whether you have just learnt to ID dandelions or can ID every plant this side of the Atlantic, or you just want to draw every flower you see, there is a space here for you.

Come along to a free taster session! Then attend any of our events for free when you become a member.

Beginner Botany Workshop w/ Budding Nature!: 18th May; Exchange Yellow — Penryn; Beginners' Workshop — Free for Field Botany Soc Members! We know it's a busy time of year, but attending this workshop will be well worth your time! Learn important botany terminology, plant characteristics, and plant ID skills. See you there!
