The second oldest rugby varsity in the world

The Bottle Match is an annual varsity sport event between Camborne School of Mines and The Royal School of Mines. The two schools meet every year in February to battle it out on the pitch for the honour of lifting the huge, black, metal bottle.

Since 1902, the varsity has been hosted in Cornwall or London, alternating each year.

Bottle Match started with the rugby match and over the years has seen the addition of football, hockey, lacrosse, netball, squash and golf.
