A new programme that launched last year, ResLife is here to help you settle into the university accommodation, support you and take care of your wellbeing during the first year at Falmouth University or University of Exeter.
The main objectives of ResLife programme are focused around skills, relationship and mental health, which we are aiming to meet through an all-year programme of events and regular meetings with students living in halls in accommodation. We are here to ensure your first year of studies in Cornwall is fun and provide access to all the things you need.
Last year, we hosted a huge variety of workshops, trips and events such as:
- Pizza making
- Pumpkin Carving
- Pottery Painting
- Trip to the Eden Project
- Laser Tag at Raze the Roof
- Day at the Seal Sanctuary
- Llamas on Campus
- Freshers BBQ
We are funded from allocated university budget, meaning that most of our events are free or tickets are reduced price, and most expenses are covered by us. This allows us to be inclusive to everyone and provide you with activities on a discounted price, which you normally could not access! We are here to build a friendly, vibrant and supportive community.
All of the ResLife Assistants are certified first aiders and received training on peer support, wellbeing and hate crime awareness. In addition, we work closely with Student Services’ Living Support and Wellbeing Teams and regularly visit those who need our help the most. We are here to combat loneliness and take care of students’ wellbeing.
Follow us on social media – that’s where you’ll find all updates about upcoming events and activities, and you can see what we have done in the past. We had numerous takeovers and social media contests, so make sure you don’t miss them! We also post memes.
