Department Chairs (Falmouth)
Every academic department at Falmouth University needs a student representative at undergraduate and postgraduate level. These roles are integral to the academic representation structure, ensuring issues and ideas from course level are feeding up into the formal feedback system. This enables good practice to be highlighted and shared, and issues escalated to an appropriate level for resolution.
To be the primary student representative within your Department (at Undergraduate or Postgraduate level) for academic related issues and development.
To chair a termly Department Forum with course reps to gain an understanding of the academic issues affecting students within your department.
To attend SU Department Chair Working Group to advise the SU President Falmouth, and receive feedback.
Attend the relevant Department Committee meeting as the (UG or PG) student representative.
You will receive training on your role and the opportunity for further development.
The role can help you to develop skills in the following areas:
- Time keeping
- Report writing
- Committee membership
