Volunteering opportunities at Dracaena Centre

The Dracaena Centre is a registered charity focused upon enhancing our local community by enriching the lives of its residents. We have a community centre on Dracaena Avenue (not far from McDonalds) where all the action happens.

We are always looking for volunteers to work  with our youth groups,  sports coaching sessions, holiday activities and community café. If you think that this could be for you and would like some more information please just give us a call or pop in for a chat.

We are specifically seeking volunteers to support our disability football project ‘the Dracaena Blues’. The team is made up of young men with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. They are affiliated through Cornwall County FA and play fixtures once a month in the ‘Ability Counts League’ and train once a week on a Monday evening between 5pm–6pm.

If you have a desire to help people enjoy and get the most from life, this could be just the opportunity for you. We guarantee you a lot of fun, a smile from ear to ear and a sense of satisfaction that can’t be found with many other opportunities. If you have previous experience of sports coaching or working with people with disabilities that’s great and we would love to hear from you. If you don’t but would love to gain some experience and feel that you have the passion and ability to help, please also give us a shout as we would love to hear from you too.

An enhanced DBS and references will be required to be undertaken for these positions. Own transport to and from the centre is required. For further information please contact the Sports Development Officer at sport@dracaenacentre.org or call 01326 319 414.
