The SU is here to help you with your charity fundraising plans. Events can be for any registered charity and could involve anything from a sky diving or marathon to sponsored knitting or bingo.
If you are an affiliated student group you must let us know that you are fundraising. This is due to charity law.
The SU is a registered charity (and your group is part of The SU), it cannot donate money to other charities. Students' unions have an exemption from this rule - all charitable donations from affiliated student groups MUST be processed through the RAD accounts.
Don't worry, your society will still receive all the recognition for your efforts! If you're fundraising for an activity group, check out the How to Adopt a Charity Guide.
Before you run a fundraising event you will need to read and complete the relevant Activity Request Formsand complete a detailed Risk Assessment. If you have any questions about this, or would like some help with the forms, please don't hesitate to ask.
