FX Orchestra is the only group of its kind on the Penryn Campus. The Orchestra is a brilliant way to meet people who share your love of music and have fun whilst developing your skills at University.

Open to members of all abilities, we are a non-auditioning society who come together weekly to enjoy playing music and to work towards playing in concerts. We play a variety of repertoire ranging from film favourites and musicals to classical pieces, often playing pieces that students are keen to play, or even playing student-arranged music scores. (If you are an arranger then we would love to hear from you).

Players and lovers of music are welcome to come along to our taster sessions in September and our regular rehearsals on Friday nights. We play from 5:30-7:30pm in AMATA Studio K (through the AMATA main entrance and straight ahead).

As a close-knit group, we run regular rehearsals each week, alongside social events. We are a very friendly and welcoming bunch of people, everyone is welcome from any sort of musical background, with experience not necessarily required!

Sessions involve working through full orchestral pieces informally as a group. Sectional rehearsals are currently not planned.
