Last weekend (9-10 February), Fusion Cheerleading made their debut as a competitive team at Future Cheer UK University Nationals in Manchester’s Central Arena.
As a society, they have had a number of obstacles to overcome on the road to competition, most notably travelling further than any other competing team.
Despite this, the dedication to training and drive from the athletes (many of whom started in September as beginners) made for a fun weekend and resulted in the team placing third in their category.
Yasmin Spencer, Cheerleading President: "This is a massive achievement as it allowed us to represent our University, showed ourselves to be a new forced to be reckoned with, and hopefully proved that Cheerleading is a sport to be taken seriously!"
