About the event

Join the Trevithick Women in STEM (TWiSTEM) group at Cardiff University for an online talk by string theory expert, Prof. A.W. Peet. Find out what life in academia is like if you are non-binary, transgender, AND a string theory physicist! Can quantum mechanics help us understand the non-binary world? Why are pronouns so important and what does it mean to be ‘deadnamed’? What does it mean to be cisgender and how can the cis community help become better allies to our trans colleagues? Find out why you should never eat a Kiwi and how we can make barriers to participation vanish.
