About the event
February is LGBT History Month in the UK and PRISM Exeter* are holding the latest event in their ’Speakers' series to mark the occasion. For students, these events offer a great opportunity to discover some of the wide-ranging careers open to STEMM graduates, and to chat with LGBTQ+ professionals about their experiences in the sector. For professionals, they provide an opportunity to expand your horizons beyond your particular field, to network, and to learn how we can all help to make the STEMM sector more inclusive.
Join us in hearing from meteorologist Dr Melissa Brooks ("Developing a global atmospheric model (and myself)") and research fellow Dr Alex Dudgeon ("Optical diagnostic methods: shining it where the sun doesn't shine”) who will discuss their own research and their personal experiences as LGBTQ+ researchers in their chosen fields.
