After consultation between the Stannary Bar team and The Students’ Union, we have made the tough decision to cancel the Winter Ball. We are doing our best to try to take your feedback on board, shaping events to your ideas and we had hoped that the Winter Ball was going to bring everyone together so that we could show you what we can really do. Everyone who bought a ticket can expect a refund within the next 48 hours.
Following on from the SU's Big Rep Meeting, Speak Week, Forum and ongoing work, you have reached out saying ticket prices are the main issue, and so instead, on Saturday 7th December we will be hosting an epic Winter Party club night with a new resident DJ playing all your pop hits, Christmas music and much more from 8pm till 1am. Entrance on the night will be £4.00, the lowest we can bring it to cover the music, security, first aid and other running costs.
We are planning to put more of these cheaper nights on during Friday and Saturday nights in the future and we have been working with your SU Presidents to make sure these events reflect your feedback. During the week we have now launched our ‘chill out’ hours with special offers from 5-7pm every night.
Next year we will have a large event night on Sat 22nd Feb 2020 to celebrate Bottle Match (hosted by a special guest), so save the date!
