Based on 1997 graphic novel of the same name by cult illustrator Daniel Clowes, two offbeat teenage girls, Extrovert Enid (Thora Birch) and introvert Rebecca (Scarlett Johansson), who have just graduated high school respond to a personal ad in the newspaper as a prank, meeting a lonely, middle-aged record collector (Steve Buscemi).
