Committee Conference 2019

Saturday 21 September 2019
Falmouth Campus, TR11 4RH
9:15am - 3:30pm

The Student Union Committee Conference 2019 #CC2019

Below is the schedule of events for the day, please note, sessions are subject to change. Where change occurs, we will inform you as soon as possible.

How will the day work?

The day starts at 09.15am with a welcome from Senior Exeter and Falmouth staff, followed by key note speaker who will offer some inspiring words to start the conference and get you charged up for new academic year! Please make sure all you arrive at this session early to get a seat.

The day then splits into sessions where you can select which breakout you attend. We have some ESSENTIAL sessions that at least 1 of your committee must attend. Most of these are repeated twice throughout the day to give you an opportunity to attend. These include: Finance, Health & Safety, Trips and Event Planning and Running Safe & Legal Socials

We recommend committee members spread themselves across as many breakouts as possible to ensure that each committee is getting as much training and information as possible during the day. Committee's that cluster together and go to the same sessions will not gain as much from the day as those who spread themselves across the sessions.

At the end of the day we are hosting the first Activities Forum of the term. Each committee needs to elect one member to attend this session on their behalf. During Forum this year you will be able to meet your presidents and members chairs of the sport committee and volunteering committee.

Throughout the day a member of the Students Opportunities team will be occupying a table in Fox Café, should you have any questions or would just like to join us for a coffee and a catch up! We like chocolate ;)

Each conference attendee will be issued with a lunch voucher that can be spent at the Fox Cafe that day. Make sure you pre-order your lunch voucher when you book onto sessions. If you do have a dietary requirement please state this when buying your lunch ticket, a question should appear.

How do I book onto breakouts?

TICKETS ARE NOW LIVE

Please make sure you add a ticket for each breakout you would like to attend by using the 'Buy Tickets' list on this page. Tickets are free, but you will need to process your ‘basket’ in order to be registered for the session. When tickets sell out, please find an alternative breakout for that particular session and aim to get on the repeat workshop later in the day.

What to bring:

We suggest bringing pen/paper or an electronic device for making notes. Please refrain from using phones in sessions although we always appreciate social media activity during the day so please share any snaps as we will be having a competition for the best picture! Please use the hashtag #CC2019

We will not be supplying drinks during the day, so please make sure you bring plenty of reusable bottles for rehydration!

Help:

If you need help with any of this please email activitiesteam@thesu.org.uk or pop into The Student’s Union to see your manager. Please let us know if you have any requirements we should consider to enable you to get the most out of the day.
